Role Description

The Sonographer will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including general, obstetric, gynecological, MSK, vascular, and abdominal scans, in line with national imaging protocols and clinic standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves collaborating with consultants and administrative staff to ensure:

  • Efficient scheduling
  • Accurate documentation
  • An excellent patient experience from booking to follow-up

The Sonographer will participate in quality assurance activities, maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge, and support service development as needed. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in London, with primary on-site work and some flexibility for remote reporting and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Clinical ultrasound expertise across relevant domains, including Medicine and Radiology.
  • Professional registration or eligibility with recognized bodies such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or equivalent UK credentials.
  • Specialist skills in vascular imaging, including the ability to perform and interpret vascular ultrasound studies.
  • Recognized sonography qualification (e.g., BSc/PG Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent) and current registration with HCPC, NMC, or GMC, as applicable.
  • Demonstrated experience (typically 3+ years) in a clinical ultrasound setting, ideally including private healthcare or diagnostic imaging centers.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures and findings clearly and sensitively to patients and healthcare partners.
  • High attention to detail, strong reporting skills, and commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, and data confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing on-site clinical duties and remote administrative tasks.
