Are you looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to work for an NHS Trust that is inclusive, vibrant and celebrates success? Would you like to work for an NHS organisation where the values of compassionate care, working together, achieving ambitions and delivering excellence drive everything we do.
We are looking for an NHS-experienced sonographer to join our team providing the Community Radiology service for Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust in East Sussex. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work autonomously, offering a service for general practitioners and visiting consultants.
SCFT support flexible working arrangements and we will work with you to ensure that you are able to balance your home and work commitments. In recruiting to this post we are pleased to be able to offer full-time, part-time and job share opportunities.
The post holder will rotate through our Community Hospitals across East Sussex (Uckfield, Lewes and Crowborough).
As a skilled Sonographer you will provide a caring, compassionate approach within our high quality imaging team. You need to be able to work independently, demonstrating a high level of competence (aligned to NHS pathways, NICE and BMUS guidelines) and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Candidates should be skilled in general abdominal and gynae scanning. Experience in small parts, lumps and bumps, and vascular scanning (DVT) would also be an advantage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
