Sonographer

Sonographer Vacancy – Chesterfield Royal Hospital & Community Bases

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists to join our dedicated team of sonographers at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and community-based diagnostic centres, supporting excellent patient care in the Imaging and Antenatal Ultrasound departments.

This role encompasses abdominal, gynaecological, obstetric, vascular, MSK (musculoskeletal), small parts, head & neck, and interventional ultrasound, with preference given to candidates experienced in multiple clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Practice

  • Work as an autonomous ultrasound practitioner, delivering high-standard sonography to assist clinicians in achieving accurate diagnoses.
  • Provide services across multiple sites, including Chesterfield, Matlock, and Buxton.
  • Commit to work across weekend rotas and select weeknight shifts (up to 8pm).

Professional Development

  • Complete all mandatory training and maintain a CPD portfolio.
  • Stay updated with advances in ultrasound practice and share knowledge with colleagues.

Research & Audit Support

  • Actively participate in ultrasound audit and research initiatives.

Requirements

  • CASE-accredited Postgraduate Ultrasound qualification.
  • Preference for HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration (but SOR’s (Sonographers’ Oversight and Registration) voluntary public register is an acceptable alternative).
  • Proficiency in multiple ultrasound specialties (strong preference).
  • Personal transport is required for multi-site work.
