Position: Sort Centre Supervisor
Contract Type: Permanent – 40 hours
Location: Ryton
Shift: Days / Mon - Fri

What you’ll do:
- Oversee and supervise processes and procedures within the Sort Centre daily
- Manage and lead a large team, ensuring performance and efficiencies are in place and are maintained daily
- Communicate effectively and involve team in quality improvement groups to drive efficiencies
- Daily financial activities required for office performance, budgets and manpower planning requirements
- Ensure all quality checks are carried out in line with company process and procedures
- Adopt a professional and courteous manner at all times when dealing with staff, customers and visitors
- Maintain good housekeeping in line with H&S controls
- Ensure all reports are emailed to relevant parties daily
- Ensure all administrative roles are carried out and files are kept tidy and up to date
- Support the International operation and cover relevant duties

Key Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure manpower planning is managed in line with forecast and daily arrivals
- Ensure appropriate equipment is maintained and any issues are reported using the correct process in line with company policy
- Collect all evidence of non-compliance in line with RM guidelines and report it to the Sort Centre Manager as well as follow the DQR process
- Ensure correct Operating Methods and Practices are in place and are supervised
- Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures as stated in the employee handbook/displayed at the location and in accordance of Company SOMs
- Cover and manage remedial charges process daily to ensure charges are raised and documentation is forwarded to the correct departments for invoicing
- Carry out duties as requested by SC Manager in line with Business needs
- Identify training needs for development plan as and when required
- Support SC Manager, covering all aspects of mail production
- Ensure operations under the supervisors control are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with H&S Policy and Legislations
- Ensure Quality of Service of all Customers are controlled, reported and sustained
- Lead and share best practices adopted by the Sort Centre involving the training of other employees, leading and motivating teams, ensuring all efficiencies are optimised in line with workloads and set KPI’s
- Ensure that the attendance and conduct procedure is followed in line with Company Policy

What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 1 year working in a comparable or acting supervisory role.
- History of managing teams of 20+ operatives.
- Knowledge of resource management, deployment and training & development.
- Excellent communicator at all levels and be able to provide, receive and implement operational information and instruction.
- Computer literate particularly Microsoft office.
