Sourcing Specialist
Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week in Birmingham, with the remainder working remotely.
Salary: Up to £45,000 + benefits
We're looking for a Sourcing Specialist to join a collaborative procurement team, responsible for delivering strategic sourcing projects and negotiating commercial agreements that provide value, quality and strong supplier relationships.
This role would suit someone with procurement or strategic sourcing experience who enjoys managing multiple projects, engaging with stakeholders and driving commercial outcomes. Experience within the public sector or healthcare procurement is highly desirable, although candidates from other sectors with relevant procurement expertise will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end sourcing activities across a range of spend categories.
- Develop and deliver sourcing strategies that achieve commercial and operational objectives.
- Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify opportunities and mitigate risk.
- Lead competitive tender processes, including RFIs, RFPs/ITTs and supplier evaluations.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing and contract terms.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
- Present sourcing recommendations and award recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Work closely with legal, finance, commercial and operational teams to ensure successful contract implementation.
- Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with organisational policies, governance and procurement regulations where applicable.

About You
You'll ideally have:
- Experience within procurement, strategic sourcing or category management.
- Previous experience in public sector or healthcare procurement is preferred but not essential.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing tender processes and supplier negotiations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret commercial and financial information.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
