Responsibilities
In this Sous Chef role, your responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
Food Preparation
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the head chef
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards at all times

Station Management
- Oversee the production of all dishes assigned to your station
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your designated area—supplies, equipment, and workflows
- Follow kitchen policies and procedures
Quality Control
- Maintain high quality standards in both presentation and taste
- Regularly taste dishes and ensure consistency with customer expectations
Team Collaboration
- Communicate positively and effectively with all team members
- Assist/support colleagues (including coaching junior chefs)
- Foster a collaborative environment where everyone feels supported
Menu Development
- Collaborate with the head chef to develop and taste new recipes
- Offer suggestions for improvement or innovation
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment in good working order, including your designated area
Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates should have:
- Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proficient communication and teamwork abilities
