About Searcys
Searcys is looking for a Sous Chef for one of their city-based venues, situated in their historic The HAC—a Georgian house set within a five-acre garden and offering a diverse range of event spaces, including an exclusive outdoor area. As a Sous Chef, you’ll act as both a culinary leader and an ambassador for the brand, delivering unforgettable dining experiences that create lasting memories.
Role Overview
You will support the Executive Chef in managing the venue’s day-to-day operations while mentoring the kitchen team to ensure high-end event delivery and consistent food quality. This role demands adaptability given the venue’s dynamic nature, with events operating simultaneously across multiple floors.
Job Type
- Full-Time
- Contract: 45-hour week
- Salary: £43,000
- Employment Type: Permanent
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflows and seamless service.
- Develop seasonal and bespoke menus tailored to client requirements for Searcys events.
- Mentor and train junior chefs, fostering their growth and development.
- Monitor daily standards and report any concerns to the Executive Chef or Group Executive.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Operations Director on venue strategies and activities.
- Adhere to all legislative and health & safety regulations, including:
- The Food Safety Act
- Health and Safety at Work Act
- COSHH regulations and related compliance guidelines.

Requirements
- A strong motivation to level up the team and uphold exceptional food quality aligned with Searcys’ legacy.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in events, hotels, or restaurants (essential).
- Expertise in innovative culinary techniques and ambassadorial excellence for Searcys events.
- A commitment to maintaining high professional standards in a bustling, varied work environment.
