Job Description: Compliance & Team Support Chef

Responsible For

To assist the Head Chef in ensuring that:

  • Food preparation, food production, and food service meets the highest standards
  • Compliance with food hygiene and HACCP regulations

Key Responsibilities

  • Attendance & Uniform Standards

    • Arrive promptly on duty as scheduled, dressed in a full, clean, and presentable uniform at all times.
    • Follow the company grooming policy strictly.
  • Hygiene & Compliance

    • Maintain the highest levels of personal and work cleanliness, ensuring compliance with HACCP requirements.
    • Enforce uniform and hygiene standards in the kitchen as per agreed protocols.
  • Food Quality & Security

    • Verify that all purchased food meets agreed standards.
    • Assist in training staff to ensure they meet established hygiene and operational standards.

  • Menu Preparation & Planning

    • Collaborate with the Head Chef in preparing and compiling daily menus, special functions, and events.
  • Day-to-Day Operations & Compliance

    • Ensure daily cleaning schedules are followed and hygiene checks are conducted.
    • Adhere to company legislation across:
      • Fire regulations
      • Health and Safety guidelines
      • Hygiene and food hygiene standards
      • Customer care protocols
      • Security procedures
  • Quality Assurance & Duties

    • Monitor all dishes to ensure they meet agreed quality standards before service.
    • Manage ordering duties and delivery intake of produce as required.

  • General Compliance & Reporting

    • Follow the Company Code of Conduct.
    • Adhere to regulations regarding workplace fire safety, health & safety, hygiene, customer service, and security.
    • Read, understand, and implement responsibilities as outlined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
    • Keep work areas clean, safe, and tidy at all times.
    • Report any maintenance issues immediately to management.
  • Training & Participation

    • Attend mandatory training and communication meetings (advance notice provided where necessary).
