We’re looking for a strong Sous Chef to join the kitchen at The Blues Kitchen in London.
The Blues Kitchen is known for bold, satisfying food done properly. Think the kind of dishes people crave and come back for: great steaks, award-winning buffalo wings, fresh ingredients cooked with care, and big flavours that keep people coming back. Our kitchens are busy, energetic places where quality and pace matter equally. As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to run a tight, organised kitchen that delivers consistently great food, even on the busiest nights. You’ll help lead the team on the pass, keep standards high, and make sure the food leaving the kitchen is something you’re proud of. This is a role for someone who loves proper cooking, enjoys leading a team, and thrives in a fast-moving London kitchen.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
