Sous Chef for Modern Neighbourhood Pub - The Rosy Hue in Elephant & Castle
Permanent Full Time/Part Time Sous Chef opportunity.
Come and be part of a friendly kitchen team. You'll create something fantastic and deliver our fresh food offer to the local neighbourhood.
The focus is on constantly developing yourself and helping create seasonal menu items from the best ingredients (no additives or preservatives in our kitchens!)
Key Sous Chef responsibilities:
- Maximising dry sales by ensuring only the best food leaves your kitchen
- Comply with food standards and guidelines.
- Compliance with Health & Safety policies & procedures
- Supporting the Head Chef with the training in of new menus to our teams
- Supplier ordering and maintaining correct stock levels
About The Rosy Hue in Elephant & Castle
Sitting on the corner of the new two-acre Elephant Park development in Elephant & Castle, The Rosy Hue is a classic neighbourhood local, serving up delicious food all day alongside drinks and seasonal cocktails from local breweries and distilleries.
The pub was inspired by the rich history of the area and its 19th century Penny Gaff dancing halls, with the name inspired by the rosy glow that appeared on the cheeks of those who frequented there.
The front of the pub is a social space for dining and drinking, whilst behind the arch you will find the perfect viewing for sports, live music and pub quizzes. Outside, there's generous outdoor seating for our guests to enjoy.

The Rosy Hue is located a 2 minute walk from Elephant & Castle tube and main station so offers a great commute and it is part of Livelyhood pub group, an established London based owner, creator, and operator of inviting and independent neighbourhood pubs.

About You
Experience in a similar position preferred or if you are ready to make the step up into a Sous Chef role, we'd love to hear from you.
Throw in your passion for fresh produce, consistent, flavoursome food, ability to communicate clearly in English, good organisational skills, knowledge of H & S, strong work ethic and you'll have us at hello!

Our Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in the delivery of Livelyhood’s fresh food offering that has our five Lively Ways (values) of Authentic, Daring, People, Lively and Sustainable at its very heart.

- Competitive hourly rates of pay of up to £13.25 - £14.75 per hour depending on your experience
- PLUS additional service/tronc - up to a further £1 - £1.50 an hour delivering OTE of up to £16.25 ph
- Quarterly Sous Chef bonus opportunity of £600 per quarter

- Average full time hours 45 hours. Flexible shifts available
