Sous Chef – Battersea (16 Hours per Week – Saturdays & Sundays)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, production, and service to deliver exceptional, high-quality dishes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to presentation standards and client expectations.
  • Supervise & train kitchen staff, enforcing food safety, sanitation, and industry best practices.
  • Support menu planning, considering dietary restrictions, nutrition, and seasonal ingredients.
  • Manage stock control and ordering to minimise waste and maintain optimal inventory.
  • Collaborate with teams to execute special events, themed dinners, and creative culinary initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organised kitchen while prioritising health and safety.
  • Contribute to administrative duties, including scheduling, budgeting, and food/Inventory tracking.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends to innovate and elevate dining experiences.
  • Foster teamwork and leadership with enthusiasm, clarity, and a positive work ethic.

Person Specification

✔ Previous experience in a Sous Chef, Chef De Party, or similar role (preferably in contract catering or education). ✔ Culinary degree or recognised certifications (highly desirable). ✔ Strong technical knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations. ✔ Ability to thrive under pressure—multi-tasking enables you to excel in fast-paced environments. ✔ Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills. ✔ Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours. ✔ Passion for hospitality—your energy, organisation, and team player mindset are invaluable.
