About the Role
The Escapade Sous Chef plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional culinary experience tailored to Silverstone’s high-performance culture. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, this position encompasses leadership in kitchen operations, team mentorship, maintaining elite food standards, and upholding sustainability and safety protocols. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced, luxury environments, balancing creativity, precision, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience Innovation & Execution
- Collaborate to design and refine an industry-leading, award-winning guest experience.
Kitchen Operations & Leadership
- Assist the Head Chef in crafting menus, ensuring consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
- Lead by example, fostering a high-performing, organised, and inclusive kitchen culture.
- Coordinate with the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef to manage service, especially during peak demand.
- Develop junior chefs through mentoring, fostering professional growth and cohesion.
- Partner with front-of-house teams for seamless service delivery and elevated guest interactions.

Culinary Excellence & Menu Development
- Uphold the highest culinary standards, aligning with Silverstone’s precision and performance ethos.
- Contribute creatively to menu development and seasonal adjustments, balancing trends and guest demand.
- Enhance guest confidence by rigorously adhering to dietary requirements and allergen protocols.
Sustainability & Procurement
- Advocate for responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and eco-conscious practices.
- Support inventory management, optimise food costs, and build supplier relationships while ensuring quality.
- Maintain portable control and stock levels to minimise waste without sacrificing excellence.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
- Enforce best practices through staff training and oversight, safeguarding health and safety.
- Maintain a clean, organised kitchen standard, promoting professionalism and efficiency.
Performance & Innovation
- Drive operational improvements in workflow, efficiency, and team effectiveness.
- Stay informed of industry innovations, keeping guest experiences refined and cutting-edge.
- Meet critical performance benchmarks, including guest satisfaction, cost targets, and staff development goals.

Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef in high-end restaurants, luxury hotels, or lifestyle hospitality.
- A track record from 4-star or 5-star hospitality settings is preferred.
- Food Safety Level 2 & 3 certifications highly desirable.
Personal Attributes
- Strong guest focus with an eye for detail.
- Sanctioned continuity and the ability to motivate teams in high-pressure scenarios.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Native or near-native proficiency in English; additional languages a plus.
Cultural Fit
- Impeccable personal grooming and hygiene standards, reflecting sophistication and professionalism.
- Punctuality, punctual resources, adaptability.
Licenses & Software
- Current UK driving licence (fully validated).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems and relevant IT tools.
