Sous Chef
Sous Chef - Priory Court Care Home, Stamford

About the Role
Your primary responsibility as Sous Chef at Priory Court Care Home in Stamford is to support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team that delivers a nutritionally balanced, high-quality meal service while adhering to the budget. Your team’s work directly contributes to the well-being of the residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare modified diets that are appealing, well-balanced, and compliant with IDDSI guidance.
- Supervise and mentor culinary staff, as directed by the Head Chef, including training unqualified staff in basic food preparation techniques.
- Ensure all food handling follows safe food handling principles and meets the highest hygiene standards.
- Support the team in understanding and implementing the Avery Healthcare Food Safety Management System.

About You
To be successful, you must embody our core values: caring, support, honesty, respect, and accountability.
Ideal Candidate Must Have:
- A relevant catering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year of catering experience.
- A strong commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services with compassionate care.
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible to cover varied responsibilities as required.
