Sous Chef – GAUCHO Richmond
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at GAUCHO Richmond restaurant. Passionate about food and experienced in running a fast-food kitchen, we need someone who thrives under pressure, maximises efficiency, and delivers outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead through operational and leadership excellence, ensuring smooth kitchen management.
- Ensure compliance with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties, following guidance from senior chefs.
- Contribute to maximising kitchen yield to enhance gross profit and minimise waste.
- Engage in supplier and partner liaisons, working under the authority of the Head Chef & Sous Chef.
- Inspect all inbound food deliveries to maintain quality and consistency standards.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on recruitment, training, team development, and staff appraisals.
- Uphold health and safety protocols, while managing grocery pricing, stock, and portion control.
- Provide high-quality, varied, and nutritious staff meals tailored to team preferences.

Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Sous Chef in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Deep passion for fresh produce and food excellence.
- Strong ability to co-manage the kitchen effectively alongside the Head Chef.
- Organised and highly communicative, with a knack for team leadership.
- Strong collaboration skills with Front-of-House (FOH) teams to align with restaurant KPIs.
