Sous Chef

Chef – Full Time (35 Hours per Week)

About the Role

We’re recruitimg an ambitious Chef to help Chartwells create exceptional food experiences. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality dining experiences for our clients and customers within the market-leading food service company in the UK.

Working Patterns

  • Shift pattern: 5 out of 7 days
  • Contract: 42.2 weeks per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
  • Overseeing and implementing menu changes to adapt to customer preferences and trends
  • Identifying opportunities to improve food services across our operations
  • Actively listening to and acting on customer feedback to enhance offerings
  • Supporting the creation of new menus and creative food concepts
  • Representing Chartwells externally and maintaining a positive brand image
  • Monitoring inventories to ensure kitchens remain well-stocked and efficient
  • Supervising kitchen cleaning responsibilities to meet hygiene and food safety standards
  • Ensuring compliance with Food Handling, Hygiene, Health, and Safety regulations

Ideal Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 qualification or NVQ equivalent
  • Proven experience in a similar Chef role
  • Demonstrable experience supervising a kitchen team
  • Valid Food Hygiene certificate (required)
