Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
  • Managing kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
  • Maintaining a happy and engaged team through 1:1 meetings, incentives and recognition
  • Inductions for all new starters in line with company procedure
  • Manage the Junior Sous Chefs to ensure all training is to company standards
  • Mentor any new members of the team, to ensure a positive working experience
  • Ensuring that all kitchen staff follow food safety and sanitation guidelines and kitchen procedures
  • Managing food inventory and ordering supplies as needed
  • Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and repaired as needed.
  • Collaborating with other kitchen staff and restaurant management to ensure that food is prepared and served in a timely manner
  • Handling customer complaints or issues related to food quality or service
  • Treat everyone with respect and remain calm at all times

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 2 year’s experience in a similar role
  • Team management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised and capable of handling multiple tasks
  • A proactive self-starter who can work independently with good judgement and minimal direction
