Company Description
Join one of Fulham’s most iconic riverside pubs
At Metro Pubs, our pubs are at the heart of their communities — each with its own personality, character, and story. We create spaces where guests can enjoy great food, drinks, service, and atmosphere, whether they’re joining us for a casual lunch, family occasion, or a big sporting event.
At The Crabtree, you’ll be joining a much-loved pub with a strong reputation, a loyal customer base, and exciting plans for the future.
Set on one of the most picturesque stretches of the Thames between Hammersmith and Putney bridges, The Crabtree is a truly unique pub destination. Just a stone’s throw from Craven Cottage, we offer guests stunning riverside views from our Thames Dining Room and terraces, creating a memorable experience from lunch through to late evenings.
From seasonal pub classics and fresh food specials to our famous Crabshack BBQ, firing up from spring through autumn, we’re all about great food, quality ingredients, and creating a destination worth visiting.
With a busy weekly food operation, strong local following, live sporting events, and a team of 50+ across front and back of house, this is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Sous Chef to join the team and help take the kitchen to the next level.
Job Description
As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to lead and inspire the kitchen team, supporting the delivery of consistently high-quality food in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
