About the Role
As Sous Chef at Fleet Hall Care Home, your role will be to support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team that provides an excellent, nutritionally balanced, high-quality culinary service for our residents—all while operating within budget.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing modified diets that are not only balanced but also appealing, in line with IDDSI guidance.
- Supervising and directing the culinary team under the Head Chef’s guidance, including instructing and mentoring unqualified staff in basic food preparation techniques.
- Ensuring safe food handling practices, maintaining the highest hygiene standards in the kitchen.
- Supporting the culinary team in understanding and applying the Avery Food Safety Management System.
About You

Ideal Candidates Must:
- Hold a relevant catering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or an equivalent NVQ).
- Have a minimum of 1 year’s catering experience.
- Demonstrate compassion and commitment in delivering outstanding culinary services to residents.
- Be adaptable and flexible, prepared to handle a range of responsibilities at short notice.
