Sous Chef – Workdays Made Better with Great Food at Elior

About the Role

At Elior, great workdays start with great food. Beyond simple office lunches, we deliver exciting, fresh, and flexible catering tailored for workplaces across the UK—whether it’s a quick grab-and-go snack, a hearty lunch, or tech-powered custom ordering. Our Sous Chef plays a critical role in ensuring that workplace dining experiences are consistently top-tier, with a focus on quality, presentation, and staff satisfaction.

Responsibilities

As the Sous Chef, your key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all food meets the highest standards of quality, freshness, and hygiene
  • Maintaining a spotless, well-organised kitchen and service area, with stocks of ingredients and supplies
  • Keeping track of current menu offerings and adjustments as needed
  • Delivering a friendly, professional, and efficient service to employees and guests
  • Strict adherence to COSHH, Food Safety, and Health & Safety regulations
  • Collaborating with the Head Chef to uphold consistency in food preparation and service

Working Pattern Monday to Friday | Start: 06:30 | 40 hours per week

Requirements

We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will bring:

  • A strong passion for food and culinary excellence
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen (training/aptitude will also be considered)
  • A customer-service mindset with a focus on creating a positive workplace atmosphere
  • The ability to work well both as part of a team and under pressure
  • A keen eye for presentation, hygiene, and food safety compliance
