Sous Chef
Sous Chef – Stationers’ Hall, Searcys
As a Sous Chef, you will represent Searcys as an ambassador and create food that delivers lasting memories for its guests. Your role involves both day-to-day kitchen operations and mentoring the crew while supporting the Executive/Head Chef.
Set within a Grade I listed building (dating back to 1673), Stationers' Hall offers an atmosphere ideal for corporate events, functions, and prestigious gatherings—all held in historic surroundings, from its magnificent inter-linked interiors to its secluded garden.

Job Details
- Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday mostly)
- Salary: £43,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities
You’ll ensure consistent delivery of premium food service while managing the kitchen team and supporting senior chefs across all Searcys operations:
- Provide high-standard food service, aiding senior chefs during events and multi-venue functions
- Oversee kitchen operations and manage the brigade in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Lead training and mentorship for junior staff
- Collaborate with team members to plan and order food supply across all Searcys locations
- Directly place orders with suppliers to meet event demands
- Maintain smooth daily operations, adhering to agreed menu requirements
- Responsible for stock control, ordering, waste monitoring, and cost efficiency in your area
- Ensure food presentation consistently meets established Searcys standards

Requirements
- Passionate about food excellence and teamwork—driven by quality service
- Demonstrated kitchen management ability with a proven track record as a mentor
- Innovative with culinary ideas for menus and special events
- Experience as a Sous Chef in high-end restaurants, hotels, or events, or equivalent
- Exceptional communication and mentoring skills
- Proficient problem-solving with a strong grasp of Health & Safety standards
