Your Impact

South East Scotland Bridges Manager

Every day, thousands of people rely on Scotland’s bridges to get where they need to be. As South East Scotland Bridges Manager, you will lead the management of more than 850 structures across the South East trunk road network—including some of the country’s most critical and nation-al-significant bridges.

Your role will focus on driving major maintenance, strengthening, refurbishment, and renewal programmes to keep Scotland’s transport network moving.

With this position, you’ll:

  • Make strategic investment decisions worth millions in pounds
  • Shape and execute high-value multidisciplinary bridge schemes, from initial investigations through design, construction, to handover
  • Guide communities, enhance reliability, and create a long-lasting legacy for future generations.

About the Opportunity

You will lead the South East Bridges Team, overseeing operations across our South Queensferry, Stepps, and Bonnyrigg offices. Acting at the heart of Scotland’s trunk road network, your responsibilities will span:

  • Identification, investigation, design, procurement, and construction management of vital bridge maintenance schemes
  • Leading comprehensive bridge assessments, including strengthening, refurbishments, and bearing replacements
  • Delivering technically robust projects through design approvals, certification, and adherence to global standards
  • Managing stakeholders, contractors, and consultancies to ensure efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Supporting record bridge maintenance investment programs with Partners Scotland

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
