Role type: Full-time, permanent
Location: Based in South Wales (Port Talbot, Cardiff) area, with on-site visits around our South Wales-based operations and suppliers, and some trips to our HQ in Cambridge.

Role description
We're looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to design, establish and operate the logistics network that will support our first commercial operations in South Wales. This isn't about inheriting an established logistics function. You'll be designing one from scratch - creating the operating model, selecting partners, building and running the logistics capability that will support Reclinker's first commercial plant before replicating it across future UK and European operations.
You'll take ownership of the end-to-end movement of materials across our supply chain - from inbound feedstocks and inter-site transfers through to storage, dispatch and customer deliveries. Working closely with suppliers, hauliers, production partners and customers, you'll ensure materials are in the right place, at the right time, at the right cost.
This is a rare opportunity to build an industrial logistics function from the ground up, shaping the systems and partnerships that will underpin Reclinker's long-term growth.
The position requires frequent travel around South Wales to manage materials and work with our partners. You will be working across a range of environments - construction sites, steelworks, moving mechanical equipment, and varying outdoor weather conditions.
You will report directly to the South Wales Operations Lead and be responsible for building and running the logistics operating model for South Wales. Within Reclinker you’ll work closely with the Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and supplier teams to support scale-up, maintain reliable material flows, and secure quality assurance throughout the supply chain.
Key objectives
2026-2027:
- Establish a scalable logistics operating model for the South Wales Operations, covering inbound feedstocks, inter-site movements, storage, dispatch, and customer deliveries – in coordination with partners and clients.
- Coordinate day to day logistics across our end-to-end process including transport planning, bulk bag handling, storage, documentation, and dispatch readiness. Materials to be handled include:
- Concrete waste
- Recycled aggregates and sand
- Steel slags
- Commercial construction products
- Ensure materials are available when needed, movements are planned, and logistics constraints are identified early.
- Build logistics controls for stock visibility, transport performance, cost tracking, supplier coordination, and issue escalation.
- Establish inspection methods for products, ensuring quality assurance protocols are applied and standards achieved – in coordination with QA/lab manager.

Responsibilities
Logistics strategy, set up & scale-up
- Design and implement Reclinker's logistics operating model for South Wales – across transport, handling, storage, documentation, and dispatch routines for feedstock, intermediate materials, and finished product.
- Develop scalable logistics standards, systems and processes to support Reclinker’s UK growth and future international operations.
- Map, test, and improve the logistics network.
- Identify capacity constraints and implement practical solutions before they impact production.
Operational logistics management
- Manage inbound feedstocks, inter-site transfers, storage and deliveries across Reclinker, supplier, partner and customer sites.
- Coordinate transport, stock control, packaging, handling and dispatch.
- Ensure materials are available to support production and customer commitments.
Partner management
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, hauliers, production partners and customers.
- Monitor logistics performance against cost, service, safety and delivery KPIs.
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly, applying a constructive, positive approach.
- Innovate together.
Performance & continuous improvement
- Develop logistics reporting covering inventory, transport performance, cost, service and carbon emissions.
- Improve logistics efficiency, reliability, utilization, sustainability and cost per tonne.
- Support quality assurance, documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Identify constraints, risks, and opportunities, driving continuous improvement.

Other general responsibilities
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality to support production scale-up.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure logistics activities comply with HSE and environmental requirements.
- Bring the best of your South Wales/ UK network, experience and contacts to Reclinker’s mission.
Requirements
Knowledge and experience:
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience managing bulk material movements and industrial transport networks
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, service and operational performance
- Experience managing relationships with and working with suppliers, hauliers and production partners
- Commercial awareness: strong ability to link logistics decisions to cost, service, customer delivery, and operational outcomes
- Strong working proficiency in key IT tools: MS Outlook, MS Teams/ Sharepoint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Project and other project management tools.
Highly desirable:
- Experience in bulk materials, construction products, cement, aggregates, steel, waste management, recycling, chemicals, or similar heavy industry
- Understanding of sustainability in supply chains and logistics
- Knowledge of South Wales industrial logistics networks
- Experience supporting the scale-up of new industrial operations.
