Role Overview

We are looking for ambitious and motivated pharmacist to join our current team of Band 7 rotational pharmacists. You will be based within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and rotations may involve the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, The Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Woodend Hospital (all in Aberdeen city).

It is a very exciting period for NHS Grampian as we have two major developments the ANCHOR Centre (Cancer) and the Baird Family Hospital (which will replace the current maternity hospital), are currently in construction and both due to open 2026/27. In addition we have an NHS Grampian Strategy which focuses on creating sustainable health and care 2022-2032. We have a vision to provide a balance between responding to illness and helping people to stay well (see link below)

Responsibilities

You will participate in our established rotation laying a foundation of knowledge and experience in a range of pharmacy disciplines, including medicine, oncology, surgery, paediatrics, aseptic dispensing, medicines information, dispensary, radiopharmacy and quality assurance. Training and support will be provided and centred around the post registration foundation framework. You will also provide training and support to more junior colleagues and pharmacy students.

This role includes a commitment to joining our on call rota. Training for on call duties will commence after an initial settling in period.
