Temporary or Secondment (23 months)

Aberdeen City HSCP is seeking a clinician to join our emerging, community-owned neurodevelopmental pathway for children and families across Aberdeen City. This is a great opportunity to help shape a neuro-affirming, strengths-based model that prioritises early identification and timely, coordinated support in universal and community settings, reducing reliance on specialist diagnostic pathways. You will work as part of an AHP-led multidisciplinary consultation approach within a “team around the child” model, partnering with education, health and third-sector colleagues to build shared understanding, support inclusive environments, and improve outcomes for children and families.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide clinical input
  • Contribute to collaborative narrative-building with children, families and professionals
  • Strengthen processes for gathering assessment evidence to enable consistent, high-quality decision-making during the Test of Change period

You will also help develop and deliver workforce learning in neuro-affirming practice, drawing on national resources including the Scottish Government’s National Neurodevelopmental Specification, and learning from the National Autism Implementation Team (NAIT) and Public Services Delivery (PSD).

Our service values:

  • Ongoing CPD
  • A robust clinical supervision process
  • A quality improvement approach to service development

We work with multi-agency colleagues across the partnership and wider services on shared priorities and transformational change, including modernising pathways, improving clinical effectiveness, and delivering person-centred care, with a strong focus on prevention and tackling health inequalities. We also participate in student training.

Requirements:

  • Must be a car driver and hold a full driving licence

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
