SPA Site Engineer
Site Engineer – Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA)
- Location: Site-based near Harling, South Norfolk
- Employment Type: Full-time
Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about contributing to one of the UK’s most ambitious water infrastructure projects? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Site Engineer to support and enhance our project delivery team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Our Site Engineer plays a critical part in the successful delivery of our projects. You’ll:

Manage day-to-day quality assurance, including:
- Surveying
- Setting out duties
- Quality checks and approvals

Assist the Site Manager in liaising with:
- The Engineering and Integration team to resolve conflicts and ensure work adheres to specifications and drawings.
- Health, safety, and environmental management teams.

Support the Site Manager in:
- Calling off materials
- Stock control
- Liaising with the procurement team to prevent order overages without authority.
- Highlighting areas of concern before they escalate.

Ensure programme, quality, and cost delivery are consistently met.

Explore alternatives to identify better ways of delivery.

Minimise waste by ordering only the required materials.

In every activity, minimise capital carbon through:
- Innovation
- Substitution
- Elimination
Skills, Experience, and Behaviours We Seek
We look for an engaged and passionate Site Engineer who:
- Has experience of large-scale infrastructure programmes, ideally within the water sector.
- Can demonstrate experience in:
- Setting out
- Recording ‘as built’ drawings
- Understands:
- Engineering principles
- Construction techniques
- Holds a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Supervisors Card.
- Has a can-do attitude and enthusiasm for innovation.

Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day site quality assurance, including surveying and setting out.
- Liaising with Engineering & integration teams to resolve technical conflicts.
- Supporting health, safety, and environmental management.
- Assisting with procurement, stock control, and material ordering.
- Highlighting risks proactively to prevent escalation.
- Ensuring delivery on programme, quality, and cost.

Requirements
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure programmes.
- Proficiency in setting out and ‘as built’ documentation.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and construction techniques.
- CSCS Supervisors Card required.
- Ability to listen, lead, and innovate.

The Strategic Pipeline Alliance is constructing almost 500km of new, interconnecting pipelines—longer than HS2, making it one of the largest infrastructure projects for a generation.

You will be employed by one of these partners, joining teams of expert consultants and contractors in a crucial project phase.
