Spa Therapist – Maternity Leave Cover

Job Description: Spa Therapist (Fixed-Term Maternity Leave Cover) – Gilpin Hotel & Lake House

Company Introduction

At Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, we proudly offer two luxurious establishments operating seamlessly as one cohesive team within the Lake District. Part of the prestigious Pride of Britain Hotels, we’re also members of Relais & Châteaux, an association of independent, globally renowned hotel and restaurant owners.

About the Role

We’re seeking an ESPA-trained Spa Therapist to join our team on a fixed-term contract (9 months, starting 1 September 2026) as maternity leave cover. This is an opportunity to work in one of the region’s most tranquil, high-end spa environments, with potential for progression to a permanent role based on performance and operational needs.

You’ll provide exceptional, personalised treatments across our Spa Space, Jetty Spa, and private suites, blending luxury luxury wellness with our signature Gilpin ethos of thoughtful hospitality.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-end spa treatments with precision—including ESPA-inspired massages, facials, and body therapies
  • Offer a warm, individualised experience tailored to each guest’s needs
  • Ensure the tranquil and welcoming atmosphere is maintained across treatment spaces
  • Support the team in providing a smooth, premium guest experience
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene and cleanliness in treatment rooms
  • Recommends personalised wellness products and routines
  • Stay updated on latest wellness trends and product innovations

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
