Special Advisor

Special Advisor – Agriculture & Landscapes

Permanent, Full-Time Starting Salary: £69,314 Locations: Oxford, Bristol, London Closing Date: 17 July 2026 (23:59 BST)

About the Role

3Keel, an evidence-led sustainability consultancy, is seeking a Principal Consultant or Special Advisor (dependent on experience) to lead and expand our Agriculture and Landscapes Business Unit. This role requires a strategic mind to develop sustainable agricultural supply chain initiatives, honed commercial acumen, and strong external representation of 3Keel’s expertise.

Ideal candidates will blend substantial agricultural or land-based supply chain experience in a corporate setting with exceptional consulting credentials. Willingness to adapt rapidly to emerging sustainability trends and collaborate across allied sectors—such as climate mitigation, biodiversity, and regenerative agriculture—is essential. Proficiency in securing client trust, drives projects to excellence, and cultivates future business opportunities while mentoring junior staff is critical.

Key responsibilities:

  • Co-lead, grow, and implement 3Keel’s strategic framework for sustainable agricultural supply chains.
  • Enhance 3Keel’s external profile and pipeline of future clients through targeted business development (BD).
  • Offer specialist technical leadership on agricultural projects with autonomy over high-impact clients and accounts.
  • Stay ahead of evolving standards (SBTi/FLAG, SBTN, TNFD, etc.) and industry initiatives.
  • Develop mentorship programs for junior staff and establish a culture of learning across the business.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Proactively shape and execute growth strategies for 3Keel’s sustainable agricultural supply chain portfolio.
  • Represent 3Keel externally, securing and nurturing corporate relationships, both existing and emerging.
  • Spearhead project development, maintaining rigorous quality, delivery timelines, and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other thematic divisions, where applicable, to ensure holistic sustainability solutions.
  • Mentor and lead cross-functional teams to uphold 3Keel’s operational excellence, ensuring data-driven insights align with evolving sustainability benchmarks.

Essential Requirements

  • Supply chain expertise: In-depth technical and commercial understanding of agricultural and land-based supply chains in the corporate world, candidacy includes environmental reporting and sustainability frameworks (e.g., ESG alignments, CDP).
  • Specialist consulting background: Proven track record in forging and delivering high-impact consultancy projects with complex stakeholders.
  • Business acumen: Strong grasp of commercial dynamics, and the ability to identify and capitalize on market gaps in sustainable agriculture.
  • Problem-solving approach: Initiative and creative adaptation in fast-evolving sustainability challenges (e.g., climate change mitigation standards, biodiversity loss frameworks).
  • Project management: Experience in leading teams, managing budgets, and ensuring on-time completion.
  • Communicative and relational skills:
    • Ability to distill technical, complex information for senior non-technical stakeholders.
    • Foster lasting collaborations with clients, earning trust and influence at all levels of decision-making.
  • Client relationship management: Construct transparent, forward-moving relationships that guarantee project success.
  • Data fluency: Analyzing, synthesizing, and turning qualitative/quantitative data into concrete strategic recommendations for clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
