SEE (Oldham) School is a small, specialist setting designed to provide personalised and accessible education for learners who benefit from an alternative to mainstream schooling. The school focuses on developing resilience, essential life skills, and academic progress within a nurturing, caring, and safe environment. Learners receive focused individual support in the classroom, complemented by dedicated pastoral care.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher role based working across both our sites in Oldham and Ashton-Under-Lyne. The Special Education Teacher will plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons that meet the individual learning needs of students with a range of disabilities and additional needs. The role involves close collaboration with pastoral staff, therapists, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support. The teacher will also manage classroom behavior in a positive, trauma-informed manner, maintain accurate records, and contribute to whole-school initiatives that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and personal development.

- Knowledge of a broad range of disabilities and the ability to differentiate instruction and support accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills for working with learners, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS or equivalent) and experience in a special or alternative provision setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in behavior management strategies and creating inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environments.
- Ability to develop individualized learning plans, track progress, and use data to inform teaching.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting the welfare and voice of all learners.
- Resilience, flexibility, and a reflective approach to practice, with willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
