About the Role

KBR maintains a highly qualified workforce to help care for service members and astronauts. We are seeking a Special Operations Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our operational unit as a Behavioral Health Care Provider. This role involves integrating the physical, mental, and psychological wellness of our service members and their families.

The responsibilities include applying social work procedures and techniques, such as interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based therapies, for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders. Key skills include:

  • Individual, family, and group psychotherapy
  • Couple’s therapy
  • Alcohol and drug treatment evaluations

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Engage in all quality improvement meetings, conferences, and staff gatherings
  • Conduct clinical/behavioral health/organizational social work research and investigations
  • Consult with:
    • Medical personnel
    • Legal authorities
    • Military commanders
    • School districts, as required
  • Maintain accurate medical records and produce evaluation/treatment reports
  • Participate in military-specific training
  • Provide clinical supervision of unlicensed providers or trainees
  • Perform critical check-ins and assessments, including:
    • Contacting referred patients to assess treatment adherence
    • Using validated symptom inventories for current symptom severity
    • Addressing barriers to treatment adherence with problem-solving support
    • Educating patients on their mental health conditions and treatment
    • Recording patient data in registries and electronic medical records
  • Present challenging cases with referring providers, behavioral health, and psychiatry consultants
  • Perform case management functions

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Secret or Top Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) (or equivalent: MSSW, MSSA) from a CSWE-accredited program
  • Current, unrestricted clinical license to practice independently in any U.S. state (including DC, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands)
  • Must maintain ** credentialing requirements in good standing** (typically at a Military Treatment Facility—MTF)
  • At least 2 years of clinical social work experience in mental health settings (within the past 5 years)
  • Proficiency in applying ethical and professional social work standards
  • Experience in brief behavioral interventions
  • May include the requirement to obtain/maintain clinical practice privileges
  • Fluent oral and written English communication skills
  • Valid BCLS certification (American Heart Association) with current proof

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Government settings (e.g., U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF)
  • Prior military or Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience

  • Must comply with Safety, Health and Environmental policies
  • Must follow Quality Assurance plans, policies, and procedures
  • Required regular attendance and availability
  • Updated training completion (all mandatory)
  • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned
