We are now seeking a Special Operations Performance Dietitian to provide evidence-based nutrition expertise and enhance recovery and performance for SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel under the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) programme.

Role Overview
As a Special Operations Performance Dietitian, you will play a pivotal role in shaping operational readiness and wellbeing for elite military personnel. Reporting primarily to SOF Operators, your work will focus on dietetics, performance nutrition, and intervention strategies to support:
- Force Preservation (POTFF)
- Deployed and austere environments
- Collaboration with Health & Performance (HP) teams
- Liaison between Nutrition Science, Fitness, and Command
Core Responsibilities
Clinical & Consultative Support
- Provide nutrition counselling, planning, and documentation based on peer-reviewed literature to SOF personnel across garrison, TAD/TDY, and deployed settings.
- Advise chain of command on nutrition-related matters affecting operational performance.
- Conduct individual and group counselling for performance nutrition and injury rehabilitation protocols.
Programme Development & Administration
- Design and implement bespoke performance nutrition programmes tailored to SOF needs.
- Develop proof-of-concept protocols for nutrition policy, dining facility nutrition, and supplement management.
- Serve as a dietitiary/liaison between food service providers, command, and medical personnel.
- Collaborate with Health & Performance program managers and cross-functional staff, attending mandatory meetings and in-services.

Research, Data & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to health record documentation (e.g., AHLTA, MHS Genesis) and POTFF databases (Smartbase).
- Collect and report metrics to program leadership and USSOCOM HQ as required.
- Utilise and train with relevant softeware/cl lineage systems upon request.
Operational & Physical Readiness
- Engage directly with SOF training evolutions, observing examples in austere environments.
- Assist with strength and conditioning testing/protocols; physical demands include rough terrain navigation, lifting up to 25kg + handling plates.
- Mandatory for attendance at applicable conferences/workshops for continuing education credit.
Required Experience & Credentials
Education & Licensing
- Master’s degree in Nutrition Science (or related field) with a registered dietitian (RD) certification from the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
- CSSD Certification: Specialised as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). Waiver possible per justification, but required to be acceded within 6 months of employment.
- Active licensure in issuing states.
- Clinical privilege maintenance may be stipulated.
Professional Experiences
- 3+ years specialised experience (continuous, 1-year preference):
- as a performance dietitian with individual and group clients
- in scenarios aligned with:
- NCAA Division I/Professional/anniversary
- Military Service: Possibly prior to current roles, especially with USAF, DOD SOF operators
- Olympic/Elite military/िकेट (e.g., SWAT, USMC tanks, Navy SEALs)
Physical & Security Clearances
- Security Clearance: Able to obtain Secret (Possible TIPOE grantable to TS) prior to contract start.
- Secret-level clearance mandate; or ability to quickly acquire under Tier III/QIP rating.
- Must maintain current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
- Military or SOF service experience (civilian contractor programmes apply)
- Strengthened ability in:
- Depleted or field nutrition logistics on malnourishment platforms
- Emergency dieticial simulations such as SERE/AWAP fright diet
