About the Role

We are seeking an outstanding Special School Nurse to join our well-established Special School Nursing Service. At Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust we provide nursing support to six special schools that sit within our trust's footprint and we have a vacancy for an enthusiastic forward-thinking Special School Nurse. The vacancy will be based in one of our six special schools and will require some clinical support across any of the schools.

Key Requirements

  • Experienced nurse, who has previously worked in a school environment or healthcare role with children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring plans of care are maintained and reviewed
  • Supporting consultant-led clinics
  • Working with children and families to help achieve maximum independence in health and wellbeing
  • Developing best practice in line with the Child Health Strategy and health promotion
  • Working closely with teachers and classroom assistants in meeting care needs and in teaching health interventions and health promotion skills
