Job Opportunity: Band 6 Audiologist
The adult Audiology department at Royal Derby Hospital are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Audiologists to work within our friendly, busy Audiology Department across a number of our Southern Derbyshire sites (mainly based in Derby).
About the Role
We are a complex only service and therefore provide more opportunities to expand your knowledge and work with a more varied cohort of patients.
We are happy to consider applicants with less than 3 years post graduate experience and also anyone graduating over the Summer of 2026. Further training and experience can be provided to the right applicants to enable transition into a Band 6 role.
The successful applicant will join our Team of Audiologists to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology service for adults which will include working with patients with more complex audiological issues.
- You will be involved in the initial assessment of patients referred from their GP, typically with asymmetrical hearing loss, unilateral or asymmetrical tinnitus and other associated symptoms.
- You will be required to determine appropriate treatment, refer for MRI scans where appropriate or refer onwards when required.
- The department also works closely with our Team of ENT Consultants and Audiological Physician, particularly regarding services for patients with vestibular symptoms.
- Involvement in Student training, audit and quality improvement is also likely.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
