With our core laboratory based at The Halo Building in London WC1H 9AX, we also have an expanding site in Manchester as well as smaller hospital-based laboratories across the country. We maintain rigorously high standards of quality, whilst also delivering efficiencies to healthcare through careful workforce planning, pioneering technology and significant investment in infrastructure and IT.
About The Role
Job Title: Specialist Biomedical Scientist
Department: Blood Transfusion
Location: Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Brockley Hill, Stanmore, Middlesex, HA7 4LP
Contract / Hours: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary range: Up to £48,500 per annum DOE

Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls into the category of requiring a DBS check (standard).
About the role: An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Multi-disciplined Biomedical Scientist (BMS) in our newly equipped laboratory at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. The successful candidate will join our team of dedicated biomedical scientists and support staff in delivering a high-quality pathology service. We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive and attention to detail is essential. Main duties involve monitoring workload, participating in all aspect of diagnostic laboratory work through analysis and authorisation of results. The post holder will help with daily laboratory duties, supervision and training of less experienced staff and development of the service. They will support and contribute to the teams Quality Management System by participating in audits, change control, incidents and CAPA. Training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be committed to service excellence and have a genuine desire for continued personal and professional development. Candidates should have a suitable approved undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science (or equivalent) and be registered with the HCPC. The laboratory operates a 24/7 service so the successful candidate will be expected to participate in all shifts required to cover this timeframe.
