About BHTC
Bart’s Heart and Thorax Centre (BHTC) is seeking a motivated and experienced Cardiac Cath Labs specialist Radiographer to join our clinically advanced team. As the largest Cardiovascular Centre in Europe, we thrive on innovation, research, and delivering world-class care.
The Role
You will be a core member of our fast-paced, dynamic Cardiac Cath Labs team, providing specialist interventions across:
- Complex coronary interventions
- Structural heart procedures
- Electrophysiology & pacing
- Emergency endovascular cases (within the cardiac theatre)
There is potential for progression into Cardiac CT and Cardiac CMR roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 emergency services, including rapid response for heart attacks and arrhythmias via three dedicated call systems.
- Collaborate closely within multidisciplinary teams (MDT) to ensure life-saving interventions.
- Utilise cutting-edge technology, including photon counting Cardiac CT, high-field Cardiac MRI scanners, and 10 modern Cath Labs.
- Participate in ground-breaking research, live case broadcasts for educational purposes, and publication opportunities.
- Implement advancements in state-of-the-art medical imaging to enhance patient outcomes.
- Support training, mentoring, and continuous professional development (CPD) for yourself and peers.

On-Call & Working Pattern
- 4 shifts per week (9.5 hours each) with optional weekend roster calls.
- Shifts are designed to balance workload with opportunities to develop further in specialist areas.

Requirements & Skills
- Core Skills:
- Minimum one year’s post-registration experience as a Cardiac Cath Labs Radiographer (or equivalent competency).
- ITSS, DRGs (Dressings, Regulatory Responsibilities, Governance & Safeguarding) knowledge.
- Exceptional technical skill with X-ray imaging.
- Adaptability to high-pressure scenarios.
- Team player mentality with strong multidisciplinary collaboration.
