Band 6 Specialist Dietitian (Critical Care and HPB), Royal Liverpool University Hospital (LUHFT) part of the University Hospitals of Liverpool Group (UHLG)
Full time, permanent (37.5 hours)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Dietitian to join our friendly surgical team at LUHFT, to cover the Royal site. This Band 6 post is split between Critical Care and HPB. You will be supported by Band 7 Leads in both areas alongside the wider surgical team.
Our state-of-the-art Critical Care unit has 40 beds, providing care for some of the sickest patients in the region and our HPB unit is one of the largest clinical HPB units in the UK, managing HPB care for Merseyside, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
The post holder will be part of a wider surgical team comprised of Specialist Dietitians for Nutrition Support, HPB, Colorectal and Liver surgery and will provide support for surgical band 6 and band 5 rotational staff as needed.
We welcome applications from suitably experienced Band 5 Dietitians and those already working at a Band 6 level who are enthusiastic to learn and are ready for a new challenge at a Band 6 level. Previous NHS clinical experience is essential alongside previous experience in Critical Care. There may be future possibilities for you to specialise in either Crit Care or HPB.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the service in delivering dietetic services to the critical care and HPB patients based within the Royal Liverpool Hospital and also those attending the HPB dietetic outpatient clinics.

The primary role will be to provide nutritional treatment to inpatients as well as delivering outpatient clinics in HPB. The successful candidate will work together with the whole team, contributing to service improvement, training, audit and development of standards.
The post holder will be fully supported by the existing B7 dietitians and therapy management and will provide support and supervision to B5 and B3/4 dietetic assistant staff. You will also be involved in the supervision of students, linking in with universities to provide the best possible learning experience.
