Specialist Emergency Practitioner - Abingdon
Job Title: Specialist Emergency Practitioner (Band 6/7) – Minor Injury Units (MIU), Oxfordshire
About the Role
We're looking for passionate clinicians with expertise in the management of minor injury and/or illness. If you hold Level 7 qualifications in minor injuries and/or illness management, with proven Band 6/7 experience in an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), MIU, or Emergency Department, and are eager to develop your leadership and advanced practice skills, we’d love to hear from you.
This is an opportunity to take your urgent care career to the next level whilst supporting a patient-first approach across our Minor Injury Units, where we treat approximately 5,000 patients monthly, delivering high-quality care closer to home and reducing acute hospital visits.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Assess, diagnose, and autonomously treat patients with minor injuries/illnesses in a fast-paced, clinical setting
- Exercise sound clinical judgment and excellent decision-making with a patient-centred philosophy
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, promoting shared learning and high-quality care
- Broadened your clinicial experience, developing skills across minor injury/illness pathways and contributing to the GP Out of Hours environment

Requirements
- Be a registered nurse or paramedic with advanced clinical skills
- Hold Level 7 qualifications in minor injury/illness
- Demonstratable experience at Band 6/7 in an urgent care environment (UTC, MIU, or ED)
- A full valid driving licence (with regular access to a vehicle for work)
- Reasonable adjustments will be made in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required
