The Asian Women’s Resource Centre (AWRC) is a feminist organization whose values are founded on commitments to human rights, anti-discrimination, and freedom from oppression. Position
Location: London Office / Hybrid Working (2 days in-office, rest from home)
Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 per annum (subject to AWRC pay structure)
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term until March 2027 (with potential for extension)
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive Specialist Floating Support Housing Advocate to join our team. You will provide high-quality, trauma-informed, survivor-led support to women experiencing domestic abuse who are in safe accommodation across London.
You will carry out needs and risk assessments, develop safety plans, and advocate for survivors' rights in relation to housing, welfare, legal support, and more. You’ll be part of a collaborative, intersectional, and values-driven team working to remove barriers to safety and justice for Black and minoritized women.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver face-to-face and remote support, crisis intervention, and casework for BME survivors of domestic abuse
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop tailored safety and support plans
- Make referrals and work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies
- Advocate on behalf of survivors in relation to housing, benefits, legal protections, and health
- Maintain accurate case records using Oasis and AWRC systems
- Attend MARACs, safeguarding meetings, and contribute to multi-agency working
- Deliver training to professionals on the needs and experiences of BME survivors
- Champion intersectional and anti-oppressive approaches throughout your work
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting BME women affected by domestic abuse, forced marriage, or harmful practices
- A strong understanding of VAWG and its intersection with race, gender, immigration, disability, and other identities
- Ability to manage a high caseload and provide crisis support in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled in advocacy, safeguarding, partnership work, and working with complex needs
- Knowledge of relevant legal, housing, welfare, and safeguarding frameworks
- Excellent communication, IT, data recording, and report writing skills
- Ability to speak a community language is desirable
- A firm commitment to feminist, anti-racist, and survivor-centred practice
