**Specialist, Market Operations – Coinbase

About the Role Coinbase is a remote-first but not remote-only company. While work is conducted remotely, expect to participate in intense in-person working sessions, called "surges", held quarterly. Learn more about working at Coinbase careers.

As a Specialist, Market Operations, you’ll provide frontline operational support across two key platforms:

  • Coinbase Derivatives Exchange (CDE)
  • Coinbase International Exchange (INTX)

The team operates 24/7, ensuring seamless performance of our trading and clearing systems for clients and stakeholders. You will:

  • Troubleshoot live production issues independently.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resolutions for complex incidents.
  • Test deployments to safeguard our production environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Own real-time functional and technical support for:

    • Electronic trading,
    • Clearing systems,
    • Exchange applications across CDE and INTX.
  • Investigate and resolve customer inquiries regarding:

    • Exchange functionality,
    • Market events,
    • Connectivity issues,
    • Product schedules,
    • Business technology.
  • Lead frontline investigations tied to exchange operations, including:

    • Analysis and resolution of error trades.
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to:

    • Launch new products,
    • Implement platform updates,
    • Execute deployment testing in pre-production environments.

  • Support client and vendor onboarding, alongside ongoing operational enablement, including:

    • Connectivity setup,
    • Issue triage.
  • Continuously identify process improvements that:

    • Align with business growth objectives,
    • Strengthen exchange operational reliability.

Requirements

  • Education/Experience

    • Degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems, Economics, Finance, or a related technical discipline.
    • 1+ years of experience in financial markets operations or a technical operations role.
  • Key Skills

    • Demonstrated product and operational knowledge of:
      • Listed futures or exchange-traded options,
      • Hands-on experience in error trade analysis and resolution.
    • Ability to:
      • Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across:
        • Trading platforms,
        • Clearing platforms.
      • Communicate root cause and remediation strategies to both:
        • Technical stakeholders,
        • Non-technical stakeholders.
    • Track record in managing support across multiple channels such as:
      • Voice,
      • Email,
      • Chat,
      • Effective under high-volume, time-sensitive conditions.
    • Familiarity with:
      • Prediction markets,
      • Event contracts,
      • FIX protocol,
      • SQL,
      • CRM tools (Salesforce/JIRA).
  • Generative AI Responsibility

    • Utilise generative AI with human oversight to:
      • Generate business-ready outputs,
      • Drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and workflow quality.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Annual Base Salary Range (Excludes Equity & Bonus): £81,630 GBP – £90,700 GBP (non-negotiable range – offers are made within this band).
  • Total compensation also includes:
    • Equity,
    • Bonus eligibility,
    • Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision).
