The Specialist Nurse Safeguarding Children/Child Protection Advisor
The Specialist Nurse Safeguarding Children/Child Protection Advisor is an important role within the wider Safeguarding Children Team. The Post holder provides expert advice to all Trust staff who are worried about the welfare of a child. They help support the duty system within the Trust advising and supporting in a calm and contained manner.
The post holder will be a key contact between the Trust and wider multi-agency partners, sharing information and supporting the multi-agency partners to safeguard children.
The Post holder will provide expert safeguarding children advice and guidance to Trust staff via the trust single point of contact phone and email system. They will support the MARAC process for children young people and unborn babies.

The postholder will also provide health information and guidance, using information sharing principles, to inform statutory safeguarding processes. They will also be integral to providing supervision to staff, both formal and informal, and teaching, both formal and informal.
