An exciting fixed term/secondment opportunity
An exciting fixed term/secondment opportunity to cover maternity leave until June 2027, has arisen for a part-time Specialist Occupational Therapist to join The Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team. The Team is based across 2 sites: elective surgery at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Trauma Orthopaedics at Peterborough City Hospital. The post predominantly will be based at the Peterborough site but may also be required to support at Hinchingbrooke.
About the Role
As a large and thriving team we are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and professional individual to join our friendly and supportive Therapy Service. We are invested in enhancing your specialist clinical knowledge as well as supporting and developing your managerial and leadership skills.
Requirements
Successful candidate needs to be fully qualified Occupational Therapist with experience in an Acute Hospital environment and HCPC registered, ideally with previous experience working with the management of orthopaedic patients.

Modern healthcare delivery requires a 7-day service and therefore weekend working is required
Responsibilities
- To enable OT to provide Therapy Skills within the inpatient service in the Specialist field
- To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient-focused care in line with identified evidence-based practice, local and national standards
- To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams
- To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team
- To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the specialty who may have a complex presentation
- To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole inpatient team
- To undertake weekend working as required within service developments
- To be available to provide Clinical Supervision
- This role entails 90% Clinical Contact and 10% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements
- To guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans
