Specialist Children's Physiotherapist – 16 hours/week term time only

There is flexibility on the days these hours can be worked, however, Wednesdays must be a working day.

About the Role

The Therapies in Schools (TIS) team are based in 11 special schools across West Sussex. The team works alongside existing NHS Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services and enables schools, families, and therapists to work in partnership to deliver life learning opportunities that blend the child's educational aspirations with their therapeutic needs. TIS Physiotherapists work with children and young people and their school staff to aim for optimal postural management throughout the school day, to provide programmes and work with children and young people in the pool and to support Rebound Therapy in schools.

Main Tasks

  • Undertake work alongside school staff for agreed caseload.
  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary teams to improve further the integrated holistic and child-centred approach of the allocated special schools.
  • Increase confidence and skills of school-based education staff to deliver physiotherapy programmes.
  • Increase parental confidence in the quality of provision provided within the schools.
  • Deliver large scale and bespoke training to educational staff, parents, and carers.
