Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage stock control and prescription tracking, ensuring timely resupply of patient medications
- Support the pharmacist in coordinating the antimicrobial supply chain
- Assist with workflows and data collection, maintaining records on eCamis
- Coordinate clinics and appointments
- Provide counselling to patients on oral antibiotic medications, including linezolid, Fluoroquinolones, etc.
- Respond to OPAT queries via email and phone (handling both patient and professional clinical requests) and escalate as appropriate
- Experience working within existing OPAT team preferred

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Qualification: NVQ3 Level 3, BTEC in pharmaceutical sciences, or equivalent
- Registration: Registered as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council)
- Specialist qualifications or experience in one of the following:
- Medicines management qualification
- Accuracy checking qualification/accreditation
- TAQA assessor qualification or equivalent training/teaching experience
- CIPS Level 4 Foundation management qualification, or demonstrable experience in day-to-day operational management of staff and workload
- Specialist clinical pharmacy knowledge/experience in one or more areas:
- Extensive post-qualification experience preferred
- Experience in:
- Staff management and workforce supervision
- Recruitment and selection
- Accurate supply of medicines (in hospital or community pharmacy settings)
- Commitment to ongoing continuous professional development (CPD)
- Ability to resolve complaints from patients/customers

Desirable Criteria
- Experience in leading a team
- Additional specialist pharmacy qualifications, e.g. completion of the APTUK Foundation Framework
- Specialist qualifications (e.g. medicines management, accuracy checking accreditation)
- Experience of stock control systems (e.g. JAC or similar computer-based systems)
- Experience in service development, audit design & implementation, or clinical research/logistics
- Experience in aseptics, clinical trials, or ward-based medicines management
- Mentoring, coaching, or motivating staff experience
- Experience with ESR and E-rostering systems
This role is ideal for candidates with a background in pharmacy operations, medicines management, or clinical support functions within OPAT.
