Job Opportunity: Physiotherapist in Integrated Stroke Pathway
An opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapist within our integrated stroke pathway who is able to demonstrate specialist skills within stroke care. Our stroke services point of access is via a neurology assessment unit which supports rapid patient assessment and diagnosis and is collocated with a 16 bedded hyperacute service and 28 bedded acute ward. Sheffield has an integrated stroke pathway including a 30 bedded off site rehabilitation centre and community stroke services including early supported discharge. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to and be expected to rotate across all areas of the Sheffield Stroke Pathway.
About the Role
The successful candidate will receive support, supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development within an environment that facilitates collaborative team working.
The successful post holder will work closely with other specialist physiotherapists and wider team members, evaluating and optimising the delivery of therapy in both hospital and community-based settings.

The post holder will demonstrate clinical reasoning and knowledge of the hyper acute and acute stages of stroke care through to rehabilitation, inclusive of a strong awareness of patient flow, a home first principle to discharge assessment and delivering rehabilitation within an inpatient and home environment.
As a regional service experience of coordinating care across geographical boundaries is desirable alongside a strong MDT method of working to support high quality, integrated care.

- 2 Fixed Term, Full-time and Part-time posts
- This vacancy is also advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.
Please note all existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis. This must first be agreed with your current line manager.

Requirements
- Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and access to a car as community working and domiciliary visits are a core component of this role.
