Community Paediatric Physiotherapist (Band 6) – Part-Time & Fixed-Term Role

The Role
An exciting fixed-term, part-time (0.4 WTE) opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 6 Community Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our North East Glasgow City HSCP (Health and Social Care Partnership). Based at the Bridgeton Child Development Centre, this role offers the chance to work within a multidisciplinary team committed to improving the lives of children and young people with complex needs.
As the practitioner, you will:
- Provide advanced assessment, treatment, and management of children and young people with developmental, neurological, and physical conditions.
- Work independently and collaboratively across clinics, homes, and schools to ensure person-centred care.
- Benefit from mentoring, training, and professional development, ensuring continuous growth.
- Contribute to service improvement, quality initiatives, and evidence-based practice.

Duration & Location
- Position: Part-time, fixed-term (12 months)
- Base Location: Bridgeton Child Development Centre, Glasgow
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Note: Salary is pro-rata for part-time working hours.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice:
- Deliver specialised assessment, treatment, and management for children with complex developmental, neurological, and physical conditions.
- Manage and prioritise a clinical caseload, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary settings, including clinics, schools, and children’s homes.
Professional Support & Development:
- Provide education, advice, and support to families, carers, educators, and other professionals.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
- Supervise and support junior staff, students, and support workers.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in audit, evaluation, and clinical governance.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have:
Essential Criteria:
- A Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration.
- Relevant post-registration experience working with children and young people in a paediatric setting.
- Evidence of working towards a Master’s level postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc Physiotherapy, MBChB).
- Advanced knowledge of paediatric conditions, developmental stages, anatomy/physiology, and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-sufficiency to work independently and manage competing clinical priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Full UK driving licence with access to a car (essential for community visits).
- Proficiency in digital literacy for recordkeeping and service delivery.
