Specialist Physiotherapist – Medicine Rehabilitation
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at St David’s Hospital (Cardiff & Vale UHB) for a specialist physiotherapist passionate about rehabilitation to join the physiotherapy team.
The successful candidate will be a senior-level clinical expert in medicine rehabilitation and will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to:
- Assess and treat patients
- Refer and signpost for discharge home
- Proactively manage complex discharge planning
- Prevent readmissions and hospital-acquired deconditioning This role is based at St David’s Hospital, with occasionals assignments covering Barry Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Role
- Provide assessment and treatment to older adults with:
- Cognitive impairment
- Complex needs
- Frailty
- Falls and balance disorders
- Long-term conditions
- Demonstrate clinical skills at senior level with experience in medical rehabilitation
- Work cross-site to ensure consistent care across Cardiff & Vale UHB

- Support mentoring and professional development within the team
