Specialist Plant Fitter

Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, in a safety-first, customer-centric and collaborative environment.

Where Will You Be Working?

This role plays a critical part in maintaining, renewing and reimagining essential infrastructure across water, energy, transport and telecom. The Plant & Fleet Department ensures teams across the business receive efficient, reliable, safe and compliant vehicle, plant and specialist equipment hire solutions.

Location: Primarily based at our Newton site, with holiday cover for mobile fitting roles and travel as required (including extended absences from home).


What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll be a key player in maintaining and improving plant operations, supporting thousands of teams with high-quality, compliant solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Safety Leadership:

    • Foster a positive safety culture, actively participating in:
      • Daily Risk Assessments
      • Audits
      • Weekly Safety Briefings
      • Safety Observation Reports (SORS)
  • Preventative & Essential Maintenance:

    • Conduct all maintenance tasks to the highest standards, prioritising safety and adhering to manufacturer instructions.
    • Complete load testing and 3rd-party inspections within the workshop to ensure compliance.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Maintain up-to-date testing records, ensuring all work aligns with the latest PUWER and LOLER regulations.
  • Innovation & Efficiency:

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with operational teams across the UK to meet deadlines while ensuring maintenance aligns with contractual agreements.

What You’ll Bring

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance (or an equivalent recognised certification).
  • Desirable: Experience or knowledge of overhead line specialist equipment.
  • Full, valid driving licence (essential for travel as required).
  • Willingness to commute weekly across the UK, including weekends and occasions for staying away from home.
