We work as a multi-disciplinary team, and you will have the opportunity to help improve our pathways of care for our patients at a time of exciting service review and development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our rapidly developing and innovative podiatry team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, accessible, and timely evidence-based service for patients.

Based across the Morecambe Bay area, you will be responsible for the provision of care to the increased/high-risk caseload. You will need to be an excellent communicator and able to work independently and confidently. We will consider newly qualified podiatrists in a developmental role (annex 21).
Our primary focus is to deliver quality, patient-centred care which is evidence-based and sustainable for the future in an ever-changing NHS landscape. To achieve this, we aim to give you the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive, dynamic, and varied environment. We have a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement and provide regular clinical supervision and in-service training.
Hospital Locations
We operate from three main hospitals:
- Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow
- The Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI)
- Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal

Services Provided
- FGH and RLI: General Hospital services, full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
- WGH: General Hospital services, Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case, and inpatient surgery. Additionally, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
