Specialist Radiographer B6

Specialist Radiographer Band 6 – £43,231 to £52,679 per annum Plus Distant Islands Allowance: £1,461 per annum 36 hours per week Fixed-term or Secondment Post (10 months)

About the Role

NHS Western Isles seeks a highly motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic Radiographer to join a busy Radiology Department.

You will operate in a state-of-the-art department featuring:

  • DR/CR (Philips/Siemens)
  • Digital Fluoroscopy (Siemens)
  • Multislice CT (Canon Prime SP 80)
  • Digital OPG, DXA, and mobile imaging (Philips II, Philips Digital Mob)

The department performs advanced radiography-led imaging, including CT Colons and Coronary Angiograms, across specialities such as:

  • Respiratory
  • Oncology
  • Urology
  • Vascular
  • Orthopaedic
  • Gynecology
  • Pediatrics

Bank Position: Coverage demanded across:

  • ** Western Isles Hospital (Stornoway, Isle of Lewis)**
  • Uist and Barra Hospital (Benbecula, Isle of Benbecula)

Note: A remote on-call from home commitment is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safely and efficiently using postgraduate education, expertise, and experience across diverse imaging investigations.
  • Adapt to the challenges of remote and rural healthcare delivery.
  • Contribute to a supportive team including Radiographers, Sonographers, and Consultant Radiologists.

Requirements

Successful candidates will hold:

  • DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC registration
  • Proven NHS experience
  • Demonstrated competence in:
    • Advanced imaging techniques (e.g., CT-guided interventions)
    • Multispecialty procedures

Location & Terms

This is a bank position—work shifts may rotate between locations. Distant Islands Allowance applies. No relocation expenses are offered.
