Specialist Radiographer

Specialist Radiographer (CT) – Acute Trust Role

About the Role

An exciting opportunity arises to join a fast-paced acute NHS Trust, supporting dedicated clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care. You will join a team of Specialist Radiographers to perform CT scans across two key sites:

  • University Hospital of North Tees
  • University Hospital of Hartlepool

This role spans 24/7 shifts, covering urgent/emergency CT scans, with expectations to contribute across broader radiology functions including:

  • Plain film radiography (plain X-ray and fluoroscopy)
  • Theatre radiography (work within complex settings)

You will operate under a flexible workforce model, potentially rotating between acute (emergency) and elective (scheduled) services to optimise patient care in the Tees Valley Clinical Care Commissioning (CCC) system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in emergency CT coverage (day/night shifts, including 12/12-hour rotations, with occasional 7.5-hour days).
  • Complete the general department rotation to ensure skill diversification—vital when supporting team shortfalls.
  • Maintain high-level competency in plain film imaging and theatre radiography as part of a multi-skilled workforce model.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a care service network across the Trust’s acute sites.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
