About This Role
Birch Hill Primary School is seeking a committed and compassionate Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils with a range of additional needs within our specialist provision.
You will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo to provide high-quality learning, social and emotional support. This includes supporting individual and small-group programmes, contributing to personalised learning plans, and ensuring pupils feel safe, included and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
The role will involve:
- Providing care, support and supervision for pupils with a range of additional needs, including intimate care and administering medication as required.
- Supporting learning activities, helping pupils engage positively and purposefully with their programmes of work.
- Promoting inclusion, acting as a positive role model and responding to individual needs.
- Preparing, maintaining and organising resources, materials and displays.
- Supporting behaviour management, recognising positive behaviours and logging/reporting concerns as required.
- Supervising pupils during lessons, breaks and lunchtimes, including wet-play and outdoor activities.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo and parents/carers to share information, monitor progress and identify next steps.
- Keeping accurate pupil records and contributing to feedback on learning objectives.
- Providing general administrative support as required.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, confidentiality and data protection in line with Trust policy.
The ideal candidate
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has
- Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally including ASD, MLD or speech, language and communication needs.
- A caring, patient and resilient approach, with the ability to respond calmly and adaptively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
- A good understanding of child development and effective learning strategies.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, inclusion and the wellbeing of all pupils.
- NVQ Level 2 / CACHE Level 2 or equivalent, and English/Maths to Level 2 (or willingness to work towards this).

About Birch Hill Primary School
We are a two-form entry community school serving the Birch Hill and Hanworth districts of Bracknell Forest. In addition to the main school, we offer a nursery and a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) catering for children with ASD and MLD. We can accommodate 420 children, plus 26 spaces in our nursery, which offers flexible 30 hours a week. The school is organised into two Key Stages - EYFS/ KS1 and KS2.

We set high standards of work and achieve this through providing a curriculum that also develops children's belief that they can achieve their highest aspiration, while working closely with parents and the whole community.
